Academics, students, media, government representatives, and international development organizations will visit the Mekong River community and the source of the Mekong River 1) Ban Huay Luek, Muang Yai Subdistrict, Wiang Kaen District, Chiang Rai Province: Discussion on the Pak Beng Dam and international laws regarding transboundary impacts on communities. 2) Muang Yai, Lai Ngao Subdistricts, and lessons on protecting the Mekong River: Discussion on lessons from the development of hydroelectric dams in the Mekong River. 3) Ban Pak Ing Tai, Sri Don Chai Subdistrict, Chiang Khong District, Chiang Rai Province: Discussion on the impact of infrastructure development on ecosystem changes at the mouth of the river. 4) Ban Pa Kha, Pa Tan Subdistrict, Khun Tan District, Chiang Rai Province: Discussion on the community with the largest wetland area in the Ing River Basin. |
